Mission Statement

The mission of J. Sterling Morton Elementary School, whose culture unites families, guarantees all students develop the academic skills and character traits necessary for personal excellence and responsible citizenship through high-quality, innovative, engaging experiences in a challenging and nurturing environment.

Morton Elementary School Updates and Information

School Information:

Breakfast - 8:05 a.m. (optional)

Doors Open - 8:20 a.m.

School Begins - 8:30 a.m.

School Ends - 3:45 p.m.

Wednesday Schedule - School Ends - 2:15 p.m.

*Hot lunch at school is free this year.

**If your child brings a lunch from home and would like to purchase a milk, it is .50 cents. You can send cash or a check payable to Morton Elementary School. Payment will be applied to your child's lunch account.

Traffic Reminders

Please review the traffic patterns utilizing the image below.

  • Student ID Cards have been distributed to families to ensure safe and efficient student pick up procedures. Please contact your teacher if you have not received one.
  • If you are picking up a child, please do not get out of your vehicle. Staff members are available to assist in delivering students safely to vehicles.
  • Please proceed through crosswalk zones with caution. Safety Patrol members will be utilized to assist with crosswalk.
  • Students are dismissed from class at 3:45 p.m. On average, the student pick up process lasts 12 minutes from start to finish. We appreciate your continued patience with this process.
