Netherlands

It was commissioned by Gemeente Eindhoven Dienst Maatschappelijke en Culturele Zaken and Van Abbemuseum. The artist was coosje. It was installed in April-May of 2000. So it is still pretty new.
Artist statement
They were going to do soccer at first. They ended up doing a bowling scene. They thought it fit when the ball was moving like the cars on the road. He chose the scene right after the ball hit the pins. It also gives a view of speed when you look at the bowling ball.
My opinion
I think that flying pins a cool sculpture. It is of a ball hitting the pins. I like how it looks like the pins exploded. I also like how he made some of the pins underground. It has good shape.
