A Message from Dr. Lambert
We are a week into our Boosterthon Dance Fit competition. I am so excited to see all of the prizes kids are taking home and the shares we are seeing on social media. I want to assure you that we understand this is a difficult time for many in our community, and we greatly appreciate any support you are able to offer. No matter what, we want this to be an opportunity for all of our Bobcats to engage in a school-wide event. We will have ways for our Bobcats learning virtually to participate through Zoom with our in-person students.
On another note... I sent out a notification today regarding a COVID-19 positive test for an individual who has been at Bush. Everyone in close contact with the individual has been contacted by phone and email. Additionally, a general notification was sent out school-wide. If you did not receive the email, please update the email we have on file for you in our student information system. To do this, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Include your child's name, your name, and the email address you would like linked to your child's contact information.
Please know that we continue to follow COVID-19 safety protocols and to work to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The CISD COVID-19 Dashboard can be found online at https://apps.conroeisd.net/covidimpact/. It is also important to remember that masks are essential to keeping students and staff from being quarantined in the event they are exposed to a COVID-19 positive individual. Regardless of grade level, masks are considered when making decisions about quarantine. As a reminder, face shields are not a mitigating factor when determining the need for quarantine.
As we head into the weekend, I wish you all relaxing time doing something you love.
Take good care,
Dr. Jarod Lambert
Proud of our Bush Bobcats and how they love to learn!
Referral Requests for Gifted and Talented Testing
Referral requests are now open for Conroe Independent School District Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until late January for both remote and in-person platforms, referral requests are accepted at this time. Referral requests can be made by the parents and/or teachers. It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. If you are interested in referring your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher at conferences. Referrals will be accepted through December 18. You may request a referral form from the front office or the Assistant Principal. You can also find the referral form and other GT information on the CISD GT homepage.
