Grammarly Overview
Grammarly is an online grammar and spelling checker that improves communication by helping users find and correct writing mistakes. It’s easy to use:
- Copy and paste any English text into Grammarly’s online text editor or install Grammarly’s free browser extension for Chrome and Safari.
- Grammarly’s algorithms flag potential issues in the text and suggest context-specific corrections for grammar, spelling, and vocabulary. Grammarly explains the reasoning behind each correction, so you can make an informed decision about whether, and how, to correct an issue. Th e A.C. Flora Media Center has purchased this powerful tool to help students with their writing skills. It's the proof reader you do not always have around.
Easybib: A Really Useful Tool for Citing Research
What is EasyBib? EasyBib is an online tool that helps you create citations in MLA, APA and Chicago/Turabian styles. With EasyBib you can create a works cited list and parenthetical (in-text) citations. In many cases, EasyBib can create a citation automatically (autocite) if it recognizes the book, website, journal article etc., that you are citing. EasyBib has other features, such as a notebook tool that lets you take notes for your project, organize notes, and link them to citations. Accessing EasyBib From the library’s home page click on the EasyBib icon on the right hand side. If you are off campus, you will need to log on with your student ID number and eServices password. When you are on the EasyBib site, register for an account or log on with your EasyBib account, or sign in with Facebook, Yahoo, Google, AOL, or OpenID. Registering an Account Setting up an account on EasyBib allows you to save multiple projects or bibliographies, share them with others, use the notebook tool, and more. You can create your own EasyBib account or log on with Facebook, Yahoo, Google, AOL, or OpenID. Make sure to log off when you are finished using EasyBib. Simply closing EasyBib or the web browser will not log you off. If you didn’t log off, someone using the same computer could change or delete your saved citations. Collaboration In addition to saving and exporting your citations, EasyBib lets you collaborate with other users. Once logged in, just click “share” on the desired bibliography, enter the email addresses of those you want to share with. Choose sharing permissions, such as allowing others to edit or comment.
If you would like your access code or have more questions, please come by the media center to see Dr. Conrath, your librarian.
