Safety and Security

The Tolar Independent School District is committed to providing a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.

In order to ensure that our schools are well prepared for an emergency, we work closely with various safety officials - police, fire, emergency medical services, and public health.

TISD has adopted a comprehensive plan called the Standard Response Protocol (SRP). This plan covers a wide variety of emergencies and serves as a guide that helps our staff and our public safety partners respond swiftly, should a crisis occur in our schools. This system is utilized to create common language and actions among staff, students, and first responders.

You can find more information about the Standard Response Protocols on our website:

This year we have been able to equip 2nd - 5th grade students with chromebooks and charging carts for each classroom. We are now 1 to 1, device per student in grades 2-12. We also wrote a grant through Emergency Connectivity Fund to purchase 100 more chromebooks that we hope to be awarded in November.

School Health Advisory Council (SHAC)

The work of SHAC is carried out by its committees, which include: Family & Community Involvement, Nutrition, Physical Education & Activity, Health Education, Social & Emotional Wellness, Health Services, Healthy School Environment, and Staff Wellness. The SHAC meets four times a year. You can find more information about the SHAC on our website:
