2016 Prevention Conference
Take Time for Wellness
2016 Prevention Conference!
Monday, Aug 29, 2016, 08:00 AM
Comfort Inn & Suites Hotel and Conference Center, South Mission Street, Mt Pleasant, MI, United States
Let's Get Geared Up!
· Finalize hotel reservations. Call the Comfort Inn and Suites in Mt. Pleasant at 989-772-4000 and use the Block Rate Code “Eaton County RESA” for a discounted room rate.
· We’re going to do some fun stuff with technology. Bring your laptop or tablet with Google Chrome or Firefox Installed. If you have a company laptop with lots of restrictions on it, that won’t work great. Consider bringing a personal machine or plan on partnering up with someone at the conference.
· This year’s theme is “Take Time for Wellness”. We are incorporating wellness and self-care learning opportunities throughout the conference. Take advantage of these!
· This isn’t like most conferences. You will be engaged, share your expertise, plan, and collaborate with your peers. Come prepared!
· If you have special dietary needs, please make sure that you’ve shared them with us. Send any special needs to kthalison@eatonresa.org
· Make sure you’ve paid your conference fee of $25. We will accept payments at registration.
· Know anyone else who wants to come? We have a few openings left – have them register pretty quickly at https://reg.abcsignup.com/reg/event_page.aspx?ek=0021-0003-613783c336da463fa2cf809fe65a513e
Introducing "Prev Talks"
We want to hear from YOU at the conference. We want to learn about the best thing that you are doing, the most successful story that you have, or your best idea. We will have lots of 5-minute slots for you to give us your Prev Talk and tell us all about it. Come prepared with your talk and we will have sign-up opportunities for you. If you have a visual to go with your talk, bring your flash drive.
What’s a Prev Talk? It’s our interpretation of Prevention meets Ted Talk. Many of us have probably seen Ted Talks. If you haven’t, here is a favorite:
