TIME FOR CLASS!
We are thrilled to have our students and staff back in the classrooms as we kick off the new school year. There are several important details that need to be attended to as we begin. Please make sure you have taken care of these things:
1. Any medication (over the counter and prescribed) must have a designated form on file and be kept in the office. Please bring any such medications (including cough drops, Tylenol, vitamins, etc.) to the office in their original package, with the form.
2. Anyone who desires to volunteer must complete the proper paperwork and steps, to work with students. There is also an additional process for any adult that may volunteer to drive for a school event. Please be sure to complete these well in advance of volunteering at the school this year.
Annual Back to School Night
- A-M ....Side Dish
- N-S......Dessert
- T-Z.......Salad
Following the potluck, the high school Student Body Officers will host a complimentary kids MOVIE NIGHT in the gym. The movie shown will be Inside Out, and students are encouraged to bring blankets/pillows to sit on the floor while they watch the movie and enjoy movie treats. This event is intended for children ages 5-12, but older students are welcome.
While the students are enjoying the Movie Night in the gym, outside the parents will be introduced to the Board of Trustees, Administration, and Staff during a brief (15 minute) Society meeting. Following these introductions and announcements, parents will proceed to the classrooms to meet with teachers. All parents will want to attend the Parent Orientation sessions, ensuring an informed beginning to the new school year. There will be a schedule for rotating through classes, Kindergarten through High School.

WHAT'S NEW???
Student Wellness Area We are adding a Wellness Center in the front office for students to receive medical attention (medication or illness) during the school day. The office furniture has been rearranged and that has left an open area for this new space. In order to make this space function as we invision, we have developed a WISH LIST of items we are asking parents to help us with. The list includes the following: -medical cot -privacy screen -locked supplies cabinet If you wish to help with the purchase of these items, please contact Beth in the front office. | ASB Project: Encouragement for Girls The student leaders in ASB are giving the girl's bathroom in the secondary building a new artistic look, in an effort to provide encouragement to their peers. Be sure to stop by and see the hand painted design work they are giving this area of the school. Thank you ladies!!! | K-8 Ready Math Curriculum Our teachers had a full day of training to assist them in preparation for the new math curriculum, Ready Math. This program was partially funded through last year's Auction. We are excited about this research-based, highly recommended, program we can provide for our students! Teacher will talk about math, and other curricular areas, at the Parent Orientation Night on Friday. |
