TIME FOR CLASS!

Attendance has been taken, supplies are put away, friendships are forming, voices are singing, textbooks are open, school pictures have been taken, and recess is happening....SCHOOL HAS BEGUN!

We are thrilled to have our students and staff back in the classrooms as we kick off the new school year. There are several important details that need to be attended to as we begin. Please make sure you have taken care of these things:

1. Any medication (over the counter and prescribed) must have a designated form on file and be kept in the office. Please bring any such medications (including cough drops, Tylenol, vitamins, etc.) to the office in their original package, with the form.

2. Anyone who desires to volunteer must complete the proper paperwork and steps, to work with students. There is also an additional process for any adult that may volunteer to drive for a school event. Please be sure to complete these well in advance of volunteering at the school this year.

Annual Back to School Night

On Friday, Sept. 6, at 6 pm, the NCCS community will gather for the Annual Back to School Night potluck. Come and welcome our new families and connect with familiar families during this evening event. Bring a chair or blanket for picnic seating out in the commons area. The school provides beverages and paper/utensil products. Each family should bring a main dish and another item to share, according to last name.

  • A-M ....Side Dish
  • N-S......Dessert
  • T-Z.......Salad

Following the potluck, the high school Student Body Officers will host a complimentary kids MOVIE NIGHT in the gym. The movie shown will be Inside Out, and students are encouraged to bring blankets/pillows to sit on the floor while they watch the movie and enjoy movie treats. This event is intended for children ages 5-12, but older students are welcome.

While the students are enjoying the Movie Night in the gym, outside the parents will be introduced to the Board of Trustees, Administration, and Staff during a brief (15 minute) Society meeting. Following these introductions and announcements, parents will proceed to the classrooms to meet with teachers. All parents will want to attend the Parent Orientation sessions, ensuring an informed beginning to the new school year. There will be a schedule for rotating through classes, Kindergarten through High School.

Lunch Program UPDATE

The company that we partner with to provide lunch for purchase, has changed its name and process for ordering. Please follow this link to the website, for creating an account and ordering lunches. A menu for September is available below.

Jog A Thon Help Needed

The annual NCCS Jog A Thon is scheduled for Friday, October 4. We need volunteers to come together to coordinate and run this school wide event. If you are able to help, please contact Susan Van Sickle . We have a meeting planned for Monday, Sept. 9, at 8:30 am, in the Conference Room.

School Wish Lists

Do you want to bless the school or a specific teacher this year with a gift? We have developed a wish list in the school office for you to select items that are needed. Items on our lists include resources that will enhance the learning and teaching experience for our school. Please stop by, or call, and talk with Beth in the office if you wish to bless our staff and school with a gift. Thank you for your support!

Join Habitat Club!

At NCCS, we are excited to offer an after school club for students (grades 4-12th) that builds on their curiosity of nature and appreciation of God's creation. We call this opportunity Habitat Club, and it meets every Wednesday with Mrs. B. Students in high school can earn community service hours through participation. Also, parent volunteers and donations are welcome and appreciated. Additional information and a permission form is found below.
