Staff Development on January 4th

The Special Education team will meet with general education teams to review student progress and student needs. These meetings are by invitation only. :)

Hours for the day are 8:30 - 3:30 with lunch on your own. The remainder of the day will be yours for planning and priority needs.

Safety Drills

We are required to conduct all of our safety drills each semester and have strict parameters as to when they are conducted. We will practice the severe weather drill and have an evacuation drill (fire drill) on Friday. Your team will need to complete a reverse evacuation drill and send your time to Kelli by Friday, January 15th at 3:00 pm. Please let Kelli know if you have questions about any of the drills or procedures.

Thank You!

Thank you to all who have been working with our students for Allen ISD's UIL competition! Your commitment has allowed our students to grow and stretch themselves academically. I can't wait to see their smiling faces on Saturday, January 9th!

Staff Spotlight - Cindy Franks

Staff Spotlight

Where did you grow up? I am a true Texan! I grew up in Dallas, specifically in Lake Highlands, and began raising my own family there . My husband and I did not move to Allen with our girls until both boys were in collage at Texas Tech.

Describe your family. My husband and I have been married 44 years in January. I met him while in high school. We have two boys, Ryan 39 and Russell 36. We also have two girls, Wendy 29 and Jessica 28. We are so blessed to have 7 grandchildren ranging from 10 years down to 1 year of age. They all live close enough around us to visit often. I also still have my sweet mother who lives just around the corner and my sister who lives approximately 7 doors down.

What university did you attend? I attended Texas Tech , but graduated from North Texas after getting married.

What are your favorite activities? Right now I love to spend time away from home working on our new rental cabin in the woods. Decorating inside and out has been so much fun. This spring I hope to plant ferns all along the creek and move the large moss covered rocks close to a wooden bench under the trees. (That’s a project) Then I plan to read for as long as I want! I also love to travel to new places, but most of all, I like to spend time with my grandchildren. I enjoy attending their games or just having them over to spend the night, one or two at a time! I hope they will come to the cabin with me this summer.

If you had $1000 to spend on anything, what would you spend it on? A down payment for the trip to Alaska that my husband says is his DREAM vacation.

What is your favorite reality TV show? I watch way too much HGTV! I am fascinated with Fixer Upper and Vacation Homes For Free!

If you were not a teacher, what would you be? R E T I R E D . Seriously, I would work part time in some decorative accessory shop for fun or tutor students in reading and writing. I do enjoy helping students find the book that sparks a lifetime love of reading. That makes me really happy.

Happy birthday this week to Charlene Johnson!
