Shorty, a boy that lives in Haiti is left to survive the aftermath of the earthquake that left many people in depression and devastation. The earthquake destroyed many buildings, towns, and cities in Haiti and also took the lives of many people. Shorty, who was currently trapped in the rubble of a hospital after the earthquake ripped through Haiti. There was no food, nor was there any water. Shorty, needs to survive hoping rescue will come soon, but then there's a twist of what happens next to find out that he eventually gets help from one man that Shorty has not seen in a while, a slave and revolutionary man named Toussaint L'Overture. Maybe there is light on the other side of darkness. Makes you wonder what might happen next, right?


In Darkness by Nick Lake is an amazing and detailed story about one of the most devastating earthquakes that ever hit one place in the world. This book is currently praised by many professionals around the world including authors, it's truly an amazing book.
