Week 10 Message from our Principal, Ms. Limon

Rogers Family,

Thank you so much to our amazing PTO and those who support our parent organization who helped provide a very yummy breakfast for our staff on Friday before professional development. We feel very grateful for the support we have from out amazing families. Our teachers' cups are so full of joy!

This week, we are celebrating Character Counts Week (see below for dress themes) and we have Parent Conferences beginning Monday October 18th, which will take place virtually. Look for an invitation or sign up from your child´s teachers this week. Of course, you can reach out at any time to request a conference. In addition, we will have SPIRIT NIGHT at Chick-fil-a on Retail Road on Monday! Support the school by saying you are from Rogers and a portion of the proceeds will come back to the school!

Our Fall Carnival was approved by DISD´s COVID Committee so save the date for Saturday, October 30th! We are super excited to be able to welcome to campus as a community! It will be an outdoor event and masks are mandatory. We will be requesting items to help with your child's grade level booth so please donate to support our campus. We hope to see you there!

Remember to screen your students at home for COVID symptoms before sending them to school. If you have any questions, call our nurse, Ms. Herrington.

Let us know if we can support you in any way! We Are the Eagles, Watch Us Soar!

Let's Support our Teachers with a Rogers Amazon Wishlist!!!

As a learning community we want to make sure that our teachers, staff and students feel supported. This list is comprised of items that will do just that. Many items will be used in common spaces to support climate and culture, staff morale, aesthetics of the school or tools and supports for students. Often our teachers or staff members use their own funds to supply such items. It is a running list. Feel free to contribute at any time! As always, any donation is much appreciated!

We need your help for Carpool!

During construction, we have very limited space for parking and carpool. We need your help to keep our carpool lines moving safely.

  1. Make sure to stay in your car while in carpool. If you anticipate needing to get out of your car, please park on Lovers Lane.
  2. Please be patient about waiting in the carpool line. If you are finding that you are usually in a hurry every morning, then we ask you to add time to your morning routines.
  3. For afternoons, be aware that the school day technically ends at 3:15. We begin the dismissal process a bit early to ensure that all students are out by 3:15 with the younger students coming out earlier than older students. If you are picking up 3rd-5th students, please come right at 3:15 to give the other parents of only younger kids time to get through. That way you won't hold up the line waiting for your child to come out.
  4. Skipping people in line is not appropriate. We are a team and we want to model for our students what it looks like to treat others with respect.

Thank you so much for your help! If we operate as a community we can keep everyone safe and keep carpool moving efficiently. Construction will last through winter break so we appreciate your mindfulness and support.
