Synthesis Reaction

When red and yellow combine they make orange.

2CO(g) + 02(g) = 2CO2 (g)

Gaseous carbon oxide is reacted with gaseous oxygen to produce carbon dioxide. This reaction is found in nature and is responsible for the creation of carbon dioxide that we release everyday and is absobed by plants.

Decomposition Reaction

If you break down what 2 colors make purple, you get red and blue.

2H2O(aq) = 2H2(g) + O2(g)

Water breaks down to form gaseous oxygen and hydrogen gas. This happens when water is passed through and electrical currant and is use to make hydrogen.

Single Replacement Reaction

The woman leaves one man for the other. Leaving one man single each time.

Zn(s) + CuSO4(aq) = ZnSO4(aq) + Cu(s)

Zinc metal is placed in a copper sulfate solution to form zinc sulfate and copper. This is not common in nature and is used to separate the copper from the solution.

Double Replacement

The pig and penguin switched hat and glasses as compounds with elements in double replacement.

AgNO3(aq) + NaCl(aq) = AgCl(s) + NaNO3(aq)

Aqueous silver nitrate and solid sodium chloride react to form solid sliver chloride and aqueous sodium nitrate.


The coals being lit on fire show combustion. Basically anything lit on fire is combustion.

CH3OH(aq) + O2(g) = CO2(g) + H20(aq)

Aqueous methanol and oxygen are burned to create gaseous carbon dioxide and aqueous water.
