The energy at Tuscarora is through the roof! Thank you, families and students, who attended the Student Orientation and the Back to School Night events. It was so wonderful to meet so many new Tuscarora Huskies and we were so happy to see our returning Huskies.
I would like to express gratitude to our PTSO and Tuscarora families for providing a wonderful lunch for the staff on Wednesday, August 25th. It was such a wonderful treat for us and we appreciate the care and support you provide us. Thank you!
We are excited to host the Tuscarora Tailgate event on Thursday, September 2nd from 4:00PM - 6:00PM at Fortune Field, Tuscarora's football field. This is a ticketed event, so please read about this event in the newsletter and join us on September 2nd.
From September 15 to October 15, we celebrate National Hispanic American Heritage Month. I would like to take this opportunity to honor and express appreciation to Hispanic and Latino Americans for their accomplishments and contributions. I want to specifically thank our Hispanic and Latino families, students, and staff for your many contributions to our school, our community, and our world.

Supporting Deeper Learning
How can you support this? Engage your student in conversations and raise some of the following questions:
- How did you engage in (critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity, contribution) today?
- What did you think you did well when you engaged in that 'C'? How do you know?
- What are some areas that did not go as well as expected?
- What might you do differently next time?
- How did the use of the 'C' help you learn the content?
Having students engage in self-reflection is an important part of the learning process.
