Skating 101 Volunteers for 3rd and 4th Graders
Dear Third and fourth grade parents,
We are very excited about our upcoming skating unit and we are looking forward to giving our students the opportunity to learn how to in-line skate. The unit will take place April 19-April 29 and each class will skate 4 times. Fourth grade will skate during their PE time from 8:10-8:55 and third grade will skate during their PE time from 9:00-9:45. All equipment will be provided for the students so purchasing new equipment is not necessary. However, the student may bring their own supplies if they wish. Students will be required to wear a helmet, kneepads, elbow pads and wrist guards. If students are borrowing our helmets, they must bring a baseball cap or some other type of head cover that will fit underneath a helmet. Otherwise they will wear one of the provided shower caps to go under their helmet.
We are need of parent volunteers for the two weeks of skating. The students will need help putting on equipment, as well as, extra supervision so we can keep the risk of injury to a minimum. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up on the Sign-up Genius link. Follow the PE schedule to know when your child will be skating.
