*Note-An epic is a long narrative about the deeds of heroes or gods. It can be in prose or poetry.
He is very cunning.
Odysseus uses his intellectual mind to solve problems. When he was trapped in the cave with the Cyclops, he said that his name was Nobody. As a result, the Cyclops said "I will eat Nobody last of all his company, and all others before him."
He is brave.
Odysseus wouldn't have been able to defeat the Cyclops if he wasn't brave. After Odysseus handed the Cyclops wine, he "held the sharpened olivewood stake, and thrust it into his eye." This shows bravery because he could have been killed or eaten like some of his other men while fighting him.
He is respectful.
Odysseus respects most people that are above him such as Maron, son of Euanthes, and priest of Apollo guardian god of Ismarus. "Out of respect we protected him, his wife, and child" and in return Odysseus got many gifts. This is a bit stereotypical because a hero is usually liked by others although they do make a few enemies.
