Bio
Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist, Angie Marie, leader of the rock-country band Angie Marie & The Outskirts, fiercely defies the stereotypes associated with being “just another girl singer." A Pittsburgh, PA native & graduate of Berklee College of Music, Angie’s skills at arranging, songwriting, and performing provide her music with a detailed sense of craft and depth of expression, equally informed by her having grown up listening to - and performing - everything from musical theater to the blues and country.
Angie's song "Never Too Late" was recognized as Top Runner Up in Gary Allen's (drummer for Charlie Daniels) Best Song in the World Contest-Winter 2010, and she's graced the stage of many esteemed venues and festivals including Acoustic Long Island, Huntington Fall Festival, and Pittsburgh Pride Fest. Angie released her EP, Gotta Start Somewhere in the fall of 2010, about which Long Island music reviewer Jeremy Grand of PerpetualToxins.com said, "This twangy crooner can enchant with her beautiful voice and sweet lyrics..."
Angie's formidable sideman (and husband, too!), Anthony Zammit, a graduate of Five Towns College in Dix Hills, NY, has performed professionally with ensembles ranging from big band jazz orchestras and small combos to the pit orchestras of local community theaters. Though his many skills allow him to transition seamlessly between genres, he always manages to let his unique voice shine through in his playing. Anthony is also an accomplished guitar teacher who has taken great joy in helping many young students unlock their creative potential.
Anthony has performed and recorded professionally with a number of original rock bands and is currently the lead guitarist for blues-based hard rock band, Econoline. This husband & wife duo can also be heard with Long Island roots rock and soul band, The Origginators.
