The Leopard Tale
March-2021
Principal's Points
Leopard Families,
It is so good to welcome all our leopards back after a week off for the winter storm. Our hope is that all is well, and your family has recovered from any damages sustained. Please reach out if there is any help your Andre’ family can provide. We are so proud of the giving hearts of our leopards here at Andre’. For our Valentine’s celebration this year, our students collected and donated items to create 100 goodie bags for the nursing staff at Houston Methodist Hospital. The staff was overjoyed at the generosity of our students and their continuous efforts in building our culture of kindness at Andre’.
This week one of our CFISD School Board members, Julie Hinaman, visited kindergarten to help us celebrate Dr. Seuss Week! Children in several classes were thrilled to have a guest reader! Next week, another School Board member, Gilbert Sarabia, will be here to see our amazing Mad Science Week! Our dedicated Board of Trustees just can’t get enough of the awesome learning happening every day at Andre’! The Mad Scientist program is a live event and the Zoom links will be posted for each grade level. We are thankful for our Title One funding that is providing for this fabulous opportunity. We are looking forward to another fun month, rich with high levels of student engagement and learning.
Kindness Counts
Important Information
Remote Learning Day/Teacher Planning Day
This is a reminder that Friday, March 12th, the District has implemented a teacher planning day/at-home learning day for students. All students will have an at-home independent learning day. On Thursday, March 11th, all face-to-face students will come home with breakfast and lunch along with a learning packet for this day. Teachers will not be available to assist with work on this day.
Stay Connected
We want to stay connected with you! Please visit our website at www.cfisd.net, select schools and facilities, elementary schools, and then Andre’. This will take you to our website. We will also regularly post photos and news on the Official Andre’ Facebook page. To locate our page, search @CFISDAndre. Make sure you follow us on Twitter, @CFISDAndre, as well.
Lost and Found
Have you been searching the house for your child’s missing jacket or lunch kit?
We have quite a collection of found items that we have on display in the cafeteria. Students will have an opportunity each day during lunch to look through the items to reclaim things that belong to them. It is getting cooler outside, and jackets will be needed.
Please remind your child to look for missing items. Thank you for your support.

Counselors' Corner
Core Essential Value
The Core Essential Value for March is Patience: waiting until later for what you want now. Whether it’s recess, lunch, math class or spring break, we are all looking forward to something. And we just can’t wait! But this month, we are slowing down and learning to do just that – wait. So don’t hesitate to jump on board with us in talking about the Big Idea of patience.
