Pre-ACT Ahead
Resources and Preparation
Testing Date November 7
The Pre-ACT assessment will be administered at Woods Charter School on Tuesday, November 7th to all students in grade 10.
Students should be prepared with a good night's sleep and hearty breakfast.
The test will be over by around lunchtime.
What is the Pre-ACT?
As juniors, students will take the ACT test, which is often used as a college entrance exam. The Pre-ACT simulates that test and provides both current achievement and projected future ACT test scores.
The NC Department of Public Instruction mandates both the Pre-ACT in 10th grade and the ACT in 11th.

What Are the Benefits?
The Pre-ACT Interest Inventory identifies areas of strength, interest, and aptitude, which can be useful to consider as part of the college planning process. The Pre-ACT website also offers free college and career planning resources.
The assessment includes a pretest portion that will not be available to students through the state test administration. Students can, however, voluntarily access and complete the information that is included in this pretest portion and create an ACT profile at the following website: http://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/act-profile.html
Students can opt to share their names and score information with colleges and universities, as well as organizations that offer scholarships and other opportunities.
