Standards Based Grading for MS NGSS
Implementing NGSS in Your Middle School Classroom
Are you a middle school educator charged with implementing the Washington State Science Learning Standards (Next Generation Science Standards)? Have you been asked to create rubrics/scales for standards based grading? Do you use a gradebook software like Skyward or others to track standards based grades? Then this course may be for you. This 50 clock hour course is a blended learning experience that has practical application to your classroom. One evening per month we will meet for three hours (total of 15 hours) to bundle performance expectations, identify phenomena to link our instruction to, and develop rubrics or scales. Following each evening, you will engage in an online platform to post your rubrics/scales, get feedback on scenarios for assessments, and provide feedback to your colleagues (7 hours per session - 35 hours total). A Strong understanding of the next Generation Science Standards innovations is highly recommended.
