PARCC Assessments 2017
In April, Fischer Middle School will be administering the 2017 PARCC tests (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College & Careers). PARCC assessments are aligned to Common Core standards and the results provide more information for teachers and administrators on where a student may need additional help, or excels, which enhances instructional planning and differentiation.
Attendance during testing time is crucial. Please be sure your student is on-time for school, as to not miss a testing session. If at all possible, please schedule appointments for after school or avoid testing days.
Assessment Schedule at Fischer
- April 4th - April 7th - 7th grade PARCC testing from 8:00 am - 11:30 am (8:20 on Wednesday)
- April 10th - April 13th - 8th grade PARCC testing from 10:40 am - 3:00 pm
- April 10th - April 13th - 6th grade PARCC testing from 8:00 am - 11:00 am (Monday - Thursday *8:20 on Wednesday) & 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm on April 11th and 13th
Chromebook Importance:
Each evening, it is expected that students charge their Chromebooks at home. During PARCC testing this is even more important, because this year the students will be using their Chromebooks to take the PARCC tests.
To be best prepared to take PARCC tests, students should come to school each day with a fully charged Chromebook.
What should students bring to testing?
- Headphones/earbuds that can be plugged in to your Chromebook (for ELA tests)
- Fully charged Chromebook
- A Personal Reading Book (to read if students finish early during testing)
- Pencil for notes/scratch paper
- 8th grade students can bring and may only use scientific calculators for calculator sections.
Tips for Students:
- 1. Get a good night’s rest
- 2. Fully Charge Chromebook each evening
- 3. Eat a healthy breakfast
- 4. Do your best!
- 5. Wear comfortable clothes
- 6. Be on-time for school!
