Ms. Klinginsmith's Class

Skills for a lifetime.

Back to School!

Boy how time flies! It seems like yesterday we were all saying our goodbyes for the summer! I'm sure everyone has had a very busy summer and you are enjoying the last few days before school begins. I have been busy the past couple weeks attending technology focused professional development and getting things ready for the upcoming school year. This year we will have an increased focus on technology. Our focus will relate to how we use technology in our daily lives for communication and creation! I look forward to seeing 6th graders on August 6th and everyone on August 11th!

About Me

For those of you who are new to Francis Howell Middle School let me take some time and introduce myself. My name is Rebecca Klinginsmith and I am the Essential Skills teacher at FHMS. This is my 11th year in Special Education and my 16th year working with individuals with disabilities. I have had many amazing experiences within my career including attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and working in Lincoln Public Schools, returning to my hometown of Joplin, MO to teach, attending the University of Missouri-Columbia and working at the Thompson Center for Autism, and now working for the Francis Howell School District.

On a more personal note I am married and have a 3 year old son, Miles. Last summer we spent most of our time together hunting for the 250 cake statues around the Saint Louis area. This year we have enjoyed a couple trips to Silver Dollar City and fun landmarks around the St. Louis area!
