Work restrictions
Minors under the age of 16 may work no more than
- 4 hours on a school day
- 8 hours on a nonschool day
- 40 hours during a nonschool week
Minors under the age of 16 may
- Not work before 6 a.m.
- Not work after 9 p.m.

Children who are at least 14 can work as delivery employees. They may deliver newspapers, flyers or food, including pizza. Children younger than 14 are more limited. They can only deliver newspapers, according to the Fair Labor Standards Act. Youths who are not licensed to drive must perform their duties on foot, by bicycle or via public transportation. They are not allowed to work as helpers for delivery drivers.
