Looking Forward to 2024
Welcome to 2024, Falcons! We hope you enjoyed a meaningful winter break and a happy New Year celebration. Our falcons eased back into the swing of things this week with a minimum day to start and a couple days of our regularly scheduled programming.
Next week our 4th graders officially start with their new teacher, Mrs. Shelley Grosse! Everyone is so excited to relaunch the year in their new settings.
Over the course of the next week, please take 5-10 minutes to fill out our Fletcher Elementary Needs Assessment survey by Friday, January 12th. The information collected on this form is a major influencer of how our budget is crafted for the 2024-2025 school year. For example, based on the overwhelming support for student mental health support, we dedicated a significant portion of our budget to fund an extra day of a school counselor. Additionally, families and team expressed a need for supporting literacy interventions. We now have a dedicated teacher providing remediation support two hours per day for our students in grades 3-5. This month, former Fletcher teacher, Mrs. Mary Jennings-Mull, will be on site twice a week to provide reading support for students in grades Kindergarten-2nd.

Lost and Found Donations
Our lost and found is overflowing again with lots of warm winter clothing. Please stop by in the mornings or afternoon, or ask your student to look through the rack to reunite with any lost jackets, sweaters, and/or lunch boxes. All items without names clearly visible will be donated to the Alpha Project on Friday, January 12th.
Student of the Week
This week's Student of the Week is Ariel in Mrs. Quaal's class. Ariel is an enthusiastic student who is always striving to do her best. She loves to participate in class and enjoys soaking in all kinds of new information. She takes her time on work making sure that her learning is of top quality. She is a great friend to peers and loves to offer words of encouragement that add to a positive classroom community. Well done, Ariel! Thanks for exemplifying what it means to be a leader at Fletcher Elementary School!
