Autobiographies
As I mentioned last week, the autobiographies are precious. Enjoy these cute pictures.
Reptiles and Birds
This week, we continued to learn about birds and then reptiles. One lesson I dearly love is one on bird beaks. The children examine different beaks to learn about animal adaptations. The children moved through multiple trays of "bird beaks" (eye droppers, slotted spoons etc). Then, they had to decide which beak worked best with that food type. They learned about seed eaters, nectar eaters, meat eaters etc. I love doing these lessons this time of year.
Bee Presentation
This week, we had some special guests do a presentation on bees. Samantha's parents brought in a hive to share with the children. They have a business in Dripping Springs called The Beeswax Company. In the presentation hive, we saw the queen and all the worker bees. We saw the larva in the cells. The children were so excited and so was their teacher....hehe! I was truly amazed by the busy bees :)
Look at these future teachers....
Dioramas
The dioramas are amazing!
