Changes in Transportation
After the first several weeks of school, there may be a night that you need to make a change. Please let your child's teacher know (email is preferred) at least 24 hours in advance. If there is an emergency and you need to make a change with less than 24 hours notice, please call the front office so we ensure your child's teacher gets the message.
Upcoming Fundraising Events
- Early start students will participate in an Apex Fun Run with a kickoff in their classrooms on Monday the 9th and the run taking place here at Pike Lake on September 20.
- Late start classrooms will participate in a run here at Pike Lake on October 4th. Get Moving helps to coordinate this event which includes the kick-off on September 16th.
Volunteer Coordinator Needed
Throughout the year we will have events or projects which require extra help (picture day, vision/hearing screening, copying/laminating, etc.) Volunteering is a great way to be involved and see what your student experiences here at Pike Lake!
We are looking for a parent (or two) that would be interested in being our volunteer coordinator! We provide contact information for adults that have expressed interest in volunteering for school-wide events or projects. Please email april.notsch@moundsviewschools.org if you'd like to learn more.
Curriculum Advisory Committee
The Mounds View Public Schools Curriculum Advisory Committee is seeking representatives to serve on the committee for the 2019-2020 school year. Committee members work in partnership with the district and community to gain knowledge and provide feedback about about curriculum and other instructional issues.
If you are interested, please answer the questions found in this link Mounds View Curriculum Advisory Application.
Please see the Mounds View Curriculum Advisory website for meeting dates, past topics and other important information regarding the committee. If you have questions, please contact Gretchen Zahn at 651.621.6040 or by e-mail at gretchen.zahn@moundsviewschools.org
Digital Backpack
In the past, families looking for Community Education offerings, before- and after-school activities and community-organized events received a list of web links in each school enewsletter. To simplify these communications and distribute them in a more timely fashion, the District is partnering with a new digital backpack communication service called Peachjar. This fall, Mounds View Public Schools families will receive e-flyers via a “digital backpack” email that will deliver straight to your inbox on Fridays.
Here's how this will work:
No action is required on your part.
You will receive a welcome email from our service provider (Peachjar) that includes a username and password. This is provided to give you the opportunity to manage your account and flyer delivery preferences. You do not need to login to receive or view school digital flyers.
To ensure smooth delivery of this communication, we suggest you add “school@peachjar.com” to your email contacts.
When you receive your first eflyer, be sure to click “always display images.”
You can also visit your school’s website to see school-approved digital flyers. Simply click the Peachjar button on each school’s website.
This system is used exclusively for distribution of school-approved flyers. Your email address will not be shared or used for any other purpose. Questions? Email peachjar@moundsviewschools.org.
