Welcome to our online newsletter! Thank you to all of you who have taken the time to share how much you enjoy the new format. We just want to keep you current on what is happening at Susitna. The newsletter is sent directly to your email address(es) twice a month, so please make sure to keep the front office current on your preferred email contacts. Paper copies are available in the front office, or you can go to our school’s website to read this issue, or any others in the archive library.

Principal's Corner

Thanks to all of you who came out to our 4th Annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Night. Science Fair projects, ExxonMobil geology booth, AK Corp of Engineers demos, Barnes and Noble Nooks, AK Zoo, estimation and measuring stations, AK Wildlife and Conservation Center featuring "Snickers" the Porcupine, and so much more - - to let students see how “STEM really helps us measure up!” It was definitely another STEMulating evening at Susitna!

Springtime at Susitna is a fun time indeed! Students are busy with a variety of special projects and learning activities. This is also a time when teachers plan very special field trips for their classes. The added daylight certainly increases everyone’s energy levels!

Even though there are a few breaks in our routine, students are still here to learn, and we appreciate your help insuring they continue to come to school on time and ready to do their best each of the remaining days. We know how challenging it can be to maintain home routines, but we really appreciate your support with this, so that we can maximize the learning until the very last day!

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of assistance.

Kim Bautista
