Year in Review: Optimism
We are finishing our review of The Positivity Project by focusing on the character strength of Optimism. People who are optimistic find meaning in hardship and can create a vision for the future. They look at potential obstacles as opportunities, rather than threats. They also focus on the good in any situation and use it as a stepping-stone to success.
“Hope is important because it can make the present
moment less difficult to bear. If we believe that
tomorrow will be better, we can bear any hardship today.”
-THICH NHAT HANH
Family Meeting Celebrations
The seventh graders finished the year strong by winning the last Golden Lance of the year at Family Meeting on Wednesday. Congratulations, Class of 2027!
Congratulations to Lillian Clark who is the Lancer Leader of the Week! Lillian's focus and attention to detail is beyond compare even with a full plate of other activities that she does outside of class. Her love of the theater, acting, and dancing certainly keeps her busy, but Lillian is always prepared! She approaches each day with a smile and shows kindness to others in class. Keep it up, Lillian!

Final Report Cards
Report cards will be mailed home on June 15. As a reminder, PowerSchool is also available for you to check your child's progress. Click HERE to be taken to our district's website to access PowerSchool.
Time Capsule Project
The students in the 8th grade Language Arts classes have created a personal time capsule that will be delivered to them in May of their senior year. Would you like to include a letter in the time capsule from any family members (parents, grandparents, siblings, etc.)? The content of the letter is up to the writer, but the students will reflect on the following categories in their writing: my life now, what I do, and my future.
If you would like to participate, please have your 8th grader give their letter to either Mrs. Veldman or Mr. Smith by Tuesday, June 7. The letter should be in a sealed envelope with your 8th grader's first and last name written on the front along with TC Family Letter(s) written on it as well. This is an optional activity to enrich the time capsule project, but we know your child will appreciate reading your writing four years from now. Thank you for your cooperation in this project.
