Your Technology Integrator

What is a Technology Integrator

A technology integrator facilitates technology assistance by providing quality instructional resources, exemplary training, and friendly customer service to empower division members to integrate and use technology to support division goals. I also design, create, and implement training and instruction, in order to provide professional development aligned with division goals, to all members of the division, including division leaders, administrators, specialists, teachers, and support staff.

A Little About Me

I was born in Ahoskie, North Carolina, and grew up in Hopewell and Prince George, VA. I was a late collegiate bloomer, and completed my B.S. in Liberal Studies from Longwood University in 2003. I began working in Henrico County Public Schools at Mt. Vernon Middle School and Elko Middle School where I taught US History to 6th and 7th graders. I completed my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction (with a focus on Instructional Technology) in 2011. My wife, Tonya, and I have 2 daughters; Kaylee is 8 and attends Swift Creek Elementary School while Taegan is 3 and attends Primrose early preschool.

I am a bit of a Jack-of-all trades; I can sing (I made State Choir is High School), draw ( I attended VCU's Art foundation program and minored in Art), and am slightly athletic (I frequently run, and have participated in a few races locally). I am a fan of Comics, Harry Potter, Star Wars, World of Warcraft, Game of Thrones, and Harry Dresdin. I also collect Rhinoceros paraphernalia.

Weekly Integrator Support Days

Last year, Integrators across the county began a new procedure where teacher would sign-up for a time slots that fit within their busy schedules. These appointments were not mandatory but encouraged as a way for us to meet your individual or small group needs. I could help you:

  • plan a technology-rich lesson
  • offer advice on a particular technology
  • troubleshoot when necessary
  • teach you something new

This trend will continue for the 2013-2014 with an even better sign-up method. This new Google sign-up will help us to more accurately track our data while also eliminating end-user error. This year, TUESDAY is my support day for James RIver HS and Thursday is my support day for Clover Hill HS. Each week, I will be available in your building to provide technology support. The time slots on the sign-up sheet are now listed in 15 minute increments. Allowing you the option of of signing up for numerous slots to accommodate your needs.

I look forward to working with you this year!
