What are hives?
Hives are the result of an allergic reaction response and are triggered by the release of histamine. Hives can be triggered by physical factors such as heat, cold, exercise, sunlight, stress, and sustained pressure on a skin area. They are swollen pale red bumps that vary in size and can be very itchy.
