Richfield Elementary Friendly Reminders:

~Students are reminded to dress appropriately for the weather with boots, hats, gloves, snow pants and coats. It is helpful to send an extra set of clothes with your child, to keep at the top of their locker, in case clothes get wet while outside for recess. Please label these clothes.

~Dec 18th - 20th – Rock What you Got Wear spiritwear SALE

~We are so appreciative of your partnership and hope that all of you have a wonderful holiday break!

New Drop Off Procedures:

Thank you for your help with these new procedures!

  1. Student drop off in the morning begins at 8:30am at the parent pick up doors. This way a staff member will be present.
  2. Any parents wishing to park their car and walk their child in are asked to park at the back of the parking lot closest to the dumpster and to walk between the marked cone area.
  3. Parents dropping of their child are asked to form one line up against the sidewalk and have your child exit out the passenger side doors.
  4. Please pull down all the way to the end of the sidewalk and we will attempt to unload 5 cars at a time.
  5. We are ask that you do not got around other cars during drop off.

Thank you for your help with these new procedures to keep our students safe!

Please be sure that when you drop off your child that they enter the building before you are pulling away.It is important that all students have entered safely through an unlocked door.

We are asking that there are 4 cars along the sidewalk so please pull down so that we can unload several students at a time. Please be careful not to run over the cones.

Did you know this about Box Top Collection, Giant Eagle Apples for Students and Acme Receipts?

Richfield Elementary can earn money through the Giant Eagle Apples for Students program. Register your Giant Eagle Advantage card at http://www.gianteagle.com/AFTS/ and select school code 1930. You can select up to 5 school codes. Encourage friends and family to register their cards as well! Every time you use your card at a Giant Eagle or Get Go, Richfield earns points!

Save your Acme receipts! Turn in your Acme receipts dated between August 9 and December 29, and Richfield Elementary earns 5% of eligible purchases. It adds up!

Friendly Reminders from our Richfield Clinic:

We have come to the time of year to expect cold and flu symptoms. Some of these are unavoidable, but there are several things you can do at home to help prevent illness and keep everyone feeling healthy. Here are some tips to remember:

WASH, WASH, WASH YOUR HANDS! This is still the best defense against illness. Encourage your children to wash, especially before meals, using soap and warm water.

Get plenty of rest. School age children should get 9-11 hours of sleep each night. Adults should try to get 8 hours.

Drink lots of fluids and eat a balanced diet - especially breakfast!

Get your flu shot! It’s still not too late to get a flu shot.

Unfortunately, even if you follow these helpful tips, illness can still occur. Please keep in mind the guidelines below when deciding if your child should come to school. Any child with the following symptoms should stay home:

-A fever 100 degrees or higher. A child should not come back to school until the temperature is normal for 24 hours without medication.
-vomiting or diarrhea
-any rash

Have a safe and HEALTHY winter!
