Causes of Eating Disorders
Causes of eating disorders are wanting to be thinner, thinking one's too fat/large, and being in tense/emotional situation. Also, certain people have increased chance of eating disorders due to genes.
Anorexia
Eating disorder that causes one to obsess about weight and what one eats.
Symptoms - hyperactivity, social isolation, binge eating, compulsive behavior, and/or impulsivity
Long Term Effects - anemia,heart problems, bone loss, gastrointestinal problems, kidney problems, and suicide
Bulimia
Eating disorder marked by binging followed by methods to avoid weight gain.
Symptoms -
Long term Effects - tooth decay, swollen gums, dehydration, low body temperatures
Binge Eating
Frequent, uncontrollable, compulsive overeating
