Welcome Centerville Families!
We hope you had a great summer! Centerville Elementary PTA is pleased to welcome back returning families and open the doors to our new students. Our officers for 2018-2019 are: President - Brooke Faulkner, VP1 - Ashleigh Duclos, VP2 - Deanna Brown & Treasurer - Alanna Aloi. We are proud to serve alongside an amazing group of parent volunteers and our wonderful teachers and staff.
CES PTA relies upon the support and membership of CES families to provide meaningful events, activities and technology for our school throughout the year. We encourage you to join the PTA! Becoming a member is easy and you are not obligated to volunteer for anything. Joining the PTA is one of the best ways to demonstrate your commitment to your child’s education. We welcome members to attend general membership PTA meetings held throughout the year. Please return a completed membership form and dues to your child’s teacher in order to join.
We know this is a very busy time of year for everyone and we want to make sure parents are plugged in to all the upcoming events and activities taking place at Centerville. Please make a point to sign up for the following communications to ensure you are kept up to date on school events.
PTA Website - Visit our website at www.ptaces.org for all things happening at CES! We have re-designed our web site and we will be utilizing it a lot more this year. You can find out more about membership, fundraising, volunteering and PTA school events here.

Race packets will be sent home September 13th and our race will be held October 12th! For more information, please contact Nazarene Dickens or Tracy Hayat at fundraising@ptaces.org

Volunteers Needed
Our CES students bring home their Thursday Folder each week with important information from the teacher, completed assignments as well as school and community news/information. The Fliers team meets every Wednesday morning at 9am to collate and distribute the paper information that comes home from the school and community in those folders. With the 'going green' initiative we typically do not have a lot to do! However, we do need volunteers each week for 1 - 1.5 hours on Wednesdays to tackle the information that needs to get home to parents. You do not need to volunteer every week. Any assistance at all is greatly appreciated - every week, every other week, once a month or even every other month. If you are interested please contact donaldson.stacey@gmail.com to volunteer.
Lunch Shifts:
Assist CES Staff during lunch periods for kindergarten and 1st grade. Daily volunteers are needed. Please contact Stacey Donaldson at donaldson.stacey@gmail.com for more informaiton.
Box Tops
Welcome back to school everyone! I wish everyone an easy transition from summer and a successful 2018-2019 school year! Our school is a Box Tops for Education school, which means that we ask students to clip Box Tops off of any participating products you may purchase and bring them to the school to raise money for anything that the school may need. Last year we raised just over $2000 with about 200 students participating! This year our goal is $3000 with everyone participating! You are welcome to send Box Tops in at any time during the year. There is a plastic container in the foyer of the school labeled BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION. Box Tops can be placed in this container or given to their teachers. Each year our school does two Box Tops campaigns, once in October and once in February. Our October Box Top campaign will run OCTOBER 8th - OCTOBER 26th. If your child turns Box Tops in DURING these two campaigns, they will be eligible for randomly drawn prizes, top amount brought in by an individual prize and a top amount brought in for a classroom prize. ONLY BOX TOPS BROUGHT IN DURING THE CAMPAIGN DATES WILL COUNT FOR ENTRY FOR THE PRIZES.
However, if you miss those dates please send them in as they will still count as money for our teachers! If you have any questions or would be willing to help count the Box Tops during the campaigns, please email me at mrivera1998@gmail.com. Thank you for clipping for our Centerville Elementary Stars!

Staff Appreciation
Thank you to everyone who donated to our Open House Staff Lunch. It would not have been a success without all your donations, we really appreciate it! Our next event will be in November, we will be hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner for the staff. Watch for our sign up to go out soon! For more information about Staff Appreciation events, please contact Brooke Faulkner at brookefaulkner77@gmail.com or Ashleigh Duclos at abrooke120@aol.com
