Softball Wins Third Straight District Championship

The softball program won their third straight District Championship on Friday night by beating FZW 5-3 in the Class 4 District 7 Championship. The win moved the Vikings to 22-9 on the season. Softball will host the State Sectional game at home on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. The opponent will be the winner of the Holt/Troy game to be played on Monday night. All Viking fans are encouraged to come out and support our Vikings as they play the State Sectional game at home on Wednesday.

Jess Fisher & Kylee Hormuth Qualify For Golf State Championships

Jess Fisher and Kylee Hormuth punched their ticket to the Golf State Championships to be held at Sedalia Country Club on Monday and Tuesday after both having strong finishes at the State Sectional Tournament last week. Fisher finished 9th and Hormuth 13th at the State Sectional Tournament to qualify for the State Championships. Good luck to both Lady Vikings at State!

Band Takes Home First Place At The Washington Band Festival

Congratulations to Band on another strong performance. The Viking Band won 3 of 4 Finals Caption Awards (Guard, Percussion, Music) and took home first place at the Washington Festival with a score of 90.80 on Saturday. You can catch this very talented group in action this Friday at home on Senior Night.

Football Earns Homecoming Win

The Vikings moved to 6-2 on the season Friday night after beating FHC 56-0 on Homecoming. The game saw the Vikings jump out to an early lead in front of over 5,000 fans in attendance. The crowd was the largest of the year and contained many alumni as well as the first Howell Football team and the first football coach at Howell.

The night began with a pre-game performance by our very talented band. The Vikings were welcomed to the field by a very special entrance made possible by Peoples Savings Bank. You can view some of the many highlights from the night by clicking the link below.

We hope to see all Viking fans this Friday on "Senior Night" as we honor our Football and Band seniors prior to the final regular season home game versus Rock Bridge.

Girls Cross Country Wins GAC South Championship

The Girls Varsity and JV Cross Country programs both won GAC South Championships on Wednesday after finishing first in the GAC South Meet at McNair Park. The Varsity Lady Vikings turned in five all-conference performances while the JV had seven runners earn all-conference honors.

The Boys Varsity program finished a close second in the GAC South Meet and had four runners earn all-conference honors. The JV boys also turned in a strong performance and had two members earn all-conference honors as well.

Boys Soccer Clinches GAC South Championship

Congratulations to the Varsity Boys Soccer team on clinching the GAC South Championship with a 2-0 win over FHC on Friday night. The Vikings are currently 15-4-1 on the season and ranked in the "Top 10." The soccer program hopes to take this momentum into the post-season as they look to make another run deep into the playoffs.

Freshmen Volleyball Wins GAC South Tournament

Congratulations to the Freshmen Girls Volleyball team on winning the GAC South Tournament Championship on Saturday. The Lady Vikings finished off a strong day of volleyball by beating FHN in the tournament championship 2-0. The freshmen team will finish up their season on Tuesday as they face off with FHN again.

Raven Robotics Takes Second Place At Gateway Challenge

Congratulations to the Raven Robotics team for taking second place out of thirty teams at the Gateway Robotics Challenge on Saturday. Be sure to follow @FHVikings and the Viking Insider as we highlight the team and competitions throughout the school year. Good luck this season!

Soccer Raises $1381 During Pink Out

The boy's soccer program recently hosted their "Pink Out" games and raised $1381 for cancer research. The soccer program has been actively involved in the community throughout the fall season and has volunteered over 100 hours and raised over $2500 for charity. Thank you to our boy's soccer program for not only winning on the field but also in our community.

Time Change For Winter Meet The Coaches on October 11th

The winter season "Meet the Coaches" is set for October 11th. Due to softball participating in the State Sectional game on Wednesday at home the times have been adjusted. Eligibility paperwork turn in will begin at 6:15 p.m. in the high school commons with the meeting portion of the evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. All eligibility paperwork must be complete to be turned in. All students participating in a fall MSHSAA sponsored activity must have the eligibility packet completed prior to the first day of winter sports on October 30th. It is recommended that all paperwork be turned in at the "Meet the Coaches" event on October 11th. To ensure participation on October 30th all fully complete paperwork must be turned in no later than October 26th at noon. Purchasing tickets to your favorite Howell events just got easier! You can now purchase your tickets on and through the "StateChamps" app! The free app allows you to avoid the lines at games and purchase your tickets directly from your phone. After purchasing your ticket through the app you just show the digital ticket to the gate worker and they will swipe the ticket on your phone!
