End of the Year

Jackson Families,

It's been a wild year, but we've had a blast watching the children learn and grow throughout the year! Thank you for all the help you've given us.

We'll miss our fourth graders as they move onto LIS!

We hope everyone has a safe and fun-filled summer. We'll see you in August!

Top Academic Growth this School Year

We would like to recognize all of our students for all of the hard work they've put in this year! However, we'd especially like to honor the following students for being the top male and female students in their grade level based on growth on the NWEA assessments from fall to spring. These are students that grew more RIT points combined in math and reading than anyone else. Great work, students (and teachers)!

K-8 New iPad Distribution

The Duneland School Corporation (DSC) has finalized plans for students in grades K-7 regarding new device distribution. Students in grades K-7 will be allowed to keep their current DSC device over the 2021 summer. When students return to school for the 2021-22 school year, during the opening weeks of the 2021-22 school year students in grades K-7 will be required to return their current iPad, keyboard case, power block, and power cord. At this time students will then receive their new iPad, keyboard case, power block, and power cord.

It is important that students take a few moments to save anything that they would like to preserve from their current iPads. For more information on saving items from the iPad to iCloud please see the following guide:

If you are looking for additional help finding books or motivating your child to read, then check out the summer programs our local libraries are offering. Mrs. Eleftheri has already shared these with the students in her final media lessons for the year.

Duneland Schools to Launch Trojan Virtual Academy this Fall

Duneland School Corporation is excited to announce a new chapter in our history of excellence by expanding our curricular choice offerings to include a virtual K-12 program. Starting in the fall of 2021, we will be launching the Trojan Virtual Academy (TVA).

We recognize that most students find academic and social success best through in-person learning. Our commitment to these practices and programs remains unchanged. However, as we navigated 2020, we became increasingly aware of a growing number of students that thrive through alternative learning environments and specifically through online learning.

The TVA thus serves as a school choice option for families to maintain connection with Duneland Schools while selecting a learning option that they feel works best for their student(s).

Parent Information Nights will be hosted over the next two weeks. For more information, please visit our Trojan Virtual Academy site for more information.

Long-Term Capital Improvements

The DSC leadership, architects, and constructional management professionals have begun meeting with staff to discuss the next steps of the Long-Term Capital Improvement projects. Staff input sessions will take place prior to summer break and community forums will take place during the summer.
