Overpopulation
By: Austin and Obi
What is it?
Over population is when there are too many people in an area. Europe has a population 739,165,030 people with 134 people per square mile. Having this many can lead to many problems and that has happened in Europe.
What problems does it lead to?
One problem overpopulation can lead to is acid rain by burning fossil fuels like coal for having highly populated areas. Acid rain causes long-term damage to farm lands, destroying crops. This acid rain will come down on farms and destroy crops in Europe. This messes up the economy by not having enough crops and a lot of farmers and people related to farming can lose their job. It also make it harder for consumers to get safe crops. After acid rain comes down on the land the land is polluted for future farmers.

whats being done to clean it up?
in 1979 the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe implemented the convention on Pollution trying to reduce acidic emissions and since then it has slowly lowered pollution reducing acid rain. Acid rain is still a problem and won't be stopped until the pollution emission is greatly lowered.
How to clean it up?
A great way to get rid of a lot of acid rain is to produce energy without using fossil fuels. Instead, people can use renewable energy sources, like solar and wind power. Renewable energy sources help reduce acid rain because they produce a lot less pollution. These energy sources can be used to power machinery and make electricity.
