FHS Summer School 2022

Forsyth High School will have four types of summer school offerings.

1. Personal Finance and Health courses: These optional courses are for students going into the 10th / 11th Grades next school year. These courses are offered through LAUNCH and will be taught online. Students will not come to campus to complete these courses. Students who have taken these courses in the past have reported they are quite rigorous and any student who opts to take these courses should be prepared to spend a minimum of 3 hours a day on each course. There is a limited number of open slots available, so reply ASAP. Session is from June 6 – June 30.

2. Credit Recovery: These courses are for any student who needs to re-take a core class (math, science, English, & history). All credit recovery summer school courses will be taught through the Edgenuity learning program facilitated by FHS teachers. Students will complete modules online to receive course credit. These are seated courses from May 31 – June 22 (8 am – 3:20 pm).

3. Drivers Education. Drivers Education will be offered starting May 31st at Forsyth High School. All students enrolled will receive five days of class instruction followed by driving instruction. Students must be 15 years of age by May 31st. Students must have a drivers permit prior to starting the class.

4. Attendance Recovery. Students may attend summer school to make up their attendance deficiencies. Attendance recovery is from May 31 – June 22 (8 am – 3:20 pm).

Students interested in summer school must sign up in the HS Office before May 20th.

Teacher Appreciation Week

May 3rd - May 6th was teacher appreciation week. The Forsyth High School Staff was treated to breakfast and lunch everyday, and they were treated to over 100 gift drawings ranging from gift certificates, Branson show tickets, oil changes, and much more. Teachers were also excited for wearing jeans all week.

Bass Fishing

Keegan Etheridge and Zack Strahan qualified for the state bass fishing tournament to be held in September.

Cooper Voliva competes at State Golf

Cooper Voliva traveled to Columbia, MO to compete in the state golf meet on May 16-17 against 81 golfers from across the State of Missouri. Congratulations on qualifying for State!!

State Bound

Jaden Campbell and Kollin Kolb advanced to state in doubles after defeating a team from Bolivar 6-3, 6-2. The State Tournament is 5/20 and 5/21.

They are the first doubles team in school history on the boys side to be 2 time district champions, sectional winners, and 2 time state qualifiers.

The Forsyth Boys Tennis Team defeated NCA 5-2 to win the third district title in school history and first since 2008.

West Plains Tennis Tournament Champs

As a team Forsyth finished in first place.

Kollin Kolb and Jaden Campbell won flight 1 doubles.

Levi Lux and Lucas Bearden won flight 2 doubles.

Hadyn Edwards finished 4th in flight 1 singles.

Drue Coen finished second in flight 2 singles.

Republic Tennis Tournament

The Forsyth team finished 4th as a group. Pictured below is Kollin Kolb and Jaden Campbell who finished 2nd in flight 1 doubles.

Individual District Tennis Results

Jaden Campbell and Kollin Kolb are district champions in doubles and advance to sectionals.

Hadyn Edwards placed second in singles and advanced to sectionals.

Drue Coen is all district in singles.

Softball Captures the Conference Title

Congratulations to the Forsyth girls softball team who won the softball conference title by beating Clever 11-1.

JROTC attend Honor Flight

Forsyth JROTC recently attended the Honor Flight in Springfield, MO. Students were able to meet and greet several veterans. The picture with the older gentleman and a cane is a man who was at Normandy on June 6, 1944.

Forsyth FFA Compete at State

The Forsyth FFA Chapter recently spent a week in Columbia, MO competing at the state level. They were also honored by visiting the State Capital as seen in pictures below.

The Forsyth Forestry Team led by Mr. Gailey won the state title for the 3rd consecutive year. Congratulations!!!

Forsyth JROTC visits the Branson Veterans Museum

Forsyth JROTC students recently visited the Branson Veterans Museum learning about some American History.
