A Beautiful Day
We ended the week with some beautiful weather and I'm pretty sure all of the teachers took advantage of it to get kids outside! This was our first week with all student sin the cafeteria together and overall it has been a great success! It defiantly feels more crowded and it will take some time to get used to being the same space.
We also had our PRIDE point store for grade 6 and 7 this week (grade 8 will be on Monday) ask your student what items they choose - we definitely had some sell out items! Great job to our students earning all those points!
Student Council Ukraine Fundraiser
Coakley Middle school has begun a fundraiser for Ukraine. In a humanitarian effort, CMS wants to offer any help and support we can. After researching different organizations, we decided on Razom for Ukraine. Razom means together in Ukrainan, and Razom for Ukraine is a 501c3 non-profit. In times of crisis and uncertainty, it is important for all of us to come together and do what we can to help.
FoVA’s Youth Art Benefit March 23rd from 5:30-7pm
The Friends of the Visual Arts Norwood will be presenting its Annual Youth Art Month benefit on Wednesday, March 23rd at Norwood High School’s Library from 5:30-7pm. In case of inclement weather, the benefit will be held on March 24th from 5:30pm-7:00pm at the library.
Grade 8 Activities
As we head into the final stretch and our 8th graders are busy choosing their classes for the fall, it's also time for us to plan grade 8 end of year activities. Absence, Tardy, Dismissal Process
Absence Process
As we head into the winter season, I wanted to clarify how to call your child in for an Absence, tardy, or for dismissal. I will also leave this info at the bottom of all future newsletters for easy referral.
If you need to call your child in absent or tardy, please call the student absent line: 781-762-7880 and press #1. Please state your child's first and last name, the date, and the reason for the absence/tardy (sick, appointment, etc)
If your child needs to be dismissed, have your child bring a note from you to school, come to the main office in the morning and fill out a dismissal slip.
