Weekly News from Kimball Hill
WEEK of March 1st, 2021
A Message from the Principal
Dear Kimball Hill Parents & Guardians,
I cannot believe it is already March! February was such an eventful month at Kimball Hill. Our staff continues to work extra hard, meeting regularly with their grade level teams, to provide the very best possible instruction. Our school-wide food drive, 6th grade fundraiser and cougar rallies were all a success! We enjoyed seeing our students celebrate their behavioral achievments through our Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character day. Attached are some pictures.
This upcoming week of March 1st, Kimball Hill students will be participating in some safety drills, required by law. All students and staff will participate in a fire drill, shelter in place drill and a lockdown drill observed by the RMPD. We will conduct all drills in smaller groups to follow social distance guidelines. Teachers will be talking to our students ahead of time so they are aware of expectations and understand safety drills are a way we practice how to be safe. Please help us talk to your child(ren)about the importance of these drills and following the directions of our teachers.
A BIG thank you to parents that continue to complete the 5E survey. We are still in need of your help as our parent response rate is still just under 20%.
Please visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/ to take the parent survey. Your voice matters!
As always, please reach out to me any time with questions or concerns at lacamerm@ccsd15.net or call the school at 847-963-5200.
Warmly,
Michelle LaCamera
KH Food Drive Competition-Thank You
A very BIG thank you to ALL that donated to our KH Food Drive. We collected an enormous amount of supplies that will be dropped off at the POC for families in need. Two participating students were selected from a raffle that earned the opportunity to Pie the Principal and Assistant Principal; which will be pre-recorded and live streamed for students to watch next week.

A Message From The School Nurse
Dear Parents/Guardians,
In the next few weeks, I will be conducting vision and hearing screenings for all pre-school, kindergarten and second grade students. Screenings for vision and hearing are provided in accordance with the Illinois Department of Health and District 15 guidelines. Students who do not pass the school screenings are referred for medical follow up. Parents or legal guardians who object to screenings for their child on religious grounds may contact the school nurse for additional information.
During this time, we are ensuring that the safety and health of each student is maintained. All equipment used will be thoroughly wiped down in-between students and students will use hand sanitizer before/after they are screened. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at 847-963-5202 or email me at alemanl@ccsd15.net.
Sincerely,
Lidia Aleman, School Nurse
