Principal's Message

Dear Bethany Families,

The school year is coming to a very rapid close! I am focusing on making the most of each day and enjoying the growth your children have made. We have several exciting events coming up. KONA ICE will be at Bethany TONIGHT for a free community event. I hope to see you there soon!

Next Wednesday, June 15th, is our Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast from 9-10 am. PLEASE RSVP and attend if you are able to make it. (RSVP at the bottom of the email) ALL contributions large and small are worth celebrating. We THANK YOU for giving of your time, talents, and financial support throughout the year.

Thursday, June 16th is FIELD DAY. Always a fun time. Make sure to have your child wear sneakers and dress for whatever the weather decides to do! It's been a very unpredictable Spring.

Finally, on Friday we will be celebrating our 5th graders in a variety of ways. Thank you to the committee and volunteers who have been hard at work preparing and organizing an amazing event to close out their time at Bethany in a memorable way. 5th grade parents please check your email that was sent today with more information.

There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, June 20th, but we DO have school on Tuesday, June 21st (Early Release at 12:35 pm). I know it's sort of a wonky schedule. I am not in charge of the calendar.

With appreciation,

Toni

OHSU Testing

June 13th will be the last day of turning in the OHSU weekly spit tests.

Beaverton School District will not be offering weekly OHSU Weekly COVID Screening testing during the summer. Additionally at this time, BSD will not be participating in the OHSU Weekly Screening program for the 2022-23 school year.

2022-2023 Meal Benefits

All students received free breakfast and lunch this year through a government grant.

Next year all students will be back to FULL paid unless they apply for meal benefits.

  1. Meal benefits application can be done online on our app SCHOOL CAFE, an account will need to be set up.
  2. Make sure to apply during summer since applications from last year are expiring at the end of June.

Library News

We are done with all library checkouts. Please return library books as soon as you finish them. ALL BOOKS ARE DUE BY WEDNESDAY 6/15/2022.

I will send out lists of what the kids have checked out. Several checkouts defaulted to a 6/6/22 return date. Please ignore that date and know that they are not late until 6/15. That being said, the sooner I get them back, the sooner I can get the library cleaned up and organized.

An exception to the above would be books that say they are way past due (anything prior to June). Please don't worry about fines now unless you know for certain the book is lost or damaged. We will do an inventory.

Replacement books are completely appropriate and much less expensive. Please talk to me if you know you have any questions.

Thank you, as always, for your support.
