Dear Catawba Ridge Families,
M3 has started - the final stretch of S1. If your grades are not where you want them to be, now is the time to take action and finish the semester strong!
Reminder to follow DHEC and FMSD Covid guidelines for quarantine in the event you have close contact with someone who has tested positive. More info below.
ALL of our Fall Sports Teams finished either 1st or 2nd in their region and ALL qualified for state playoffs. This is a tremendous accomplishment for our student athletes and coaches.
- Shout out to our Football team for a strong season 2!
- Cheer took the region 4A title this week and will advance to State!
- Our girls and boys basketball seasons are off to a strong start! Come on out tonight to see them in action (tickets for games can be purchased through GoFan)
- Please consider donating books to the Generations Club Book Drive and cold weather gear for the Football Spirit of Giving drive. More details below.
- Visit Veterans Park to see several of the life-size holiday cards created by our students (see more below). These works of art are examples of collaborations within our school and community.
- Watch the CR Band perform in the Town of Fort Mill Virtual Tree Lighting video (about 13 min. into the piece)
- I'm pleased to report that the persons who vandalized our school have been identified.
- Takeaway from the week: while a whipped cream pie in the face is tasty, a shaving cream pie is a whole lot easier to clean up!

Holiday Cheer in Fort Mill!
CRHS Christmas Cards in the Park
Christmas Cards in the Park is a walk-through, life-sized (4ft x 8 ft.) Christmas Card display in Veterans Park, 106 N. White Street, from Dec. 4 to 31. Several CR groups created cards for this event.
“Make History this Season” by CRHS students in partnership with the Fort Mill History Museum, Courtesy of Springs Close Family Archives. Created by: Mrs. Calloway, Ms. Martin, Paige Matos, and Mia Rumsey. Mrs. Calloway and Ms. Martin visited the Springs Close Family Archives with FMHM director Mrs. Christia Humburg for inspiration for their historical Christmas card. The design is a combination of the original and updated logo of Springmaid for Springs industries in Fort Mill.
The Digital Art and Design holiday card was designed by Hope Cornette. She worked in Adobe Illustrator drawing the card and the level three DAAD class printed and installed it. We hope it brings some extra holiday cheer this year to the town of Fort Mill!
The puzzle Christmas Card was lovingly designed and created by Rylee Vilardebo, Ethan Sellers (9th grade Drawing 1 students), Mrs. Quinn and Mr. Habovick’s Special Settings Class. Our goal was to bring awareness to Autism so the community understands and is not frightened by the disability. Increased awareness helps us celebrate differences and become more inclusive of individuals with autism.
The FCCLA card was created by club members. It represents all that FCCLA stands for: teamwork, baking, family, creativity, and collaboration. Students created elements of the piece during their ceramics and woodworking classes.
