Summary
Story about three monks who bring a whole village together by making stone soup. All the villagers come together to make the stone soup, showing how coming together shows the importance of how sharing enriches the community as a whole making the community happier.
Illustration
The story begins with a muted water colored pictures, and introduces colors and details as the story progresses. The colors are dull in the begging and also become more bold and vibrant as the story goes on. The story alternates between full page illustrations and smaller details.

The images in stone soup are illustrated in realistic details. the characters in the beginning of the book have very boring and discontent faces, and as the story goes on they progressively get happier. None of the characters have the same face, they are all unique.
