ZBTHS Parent Bulletin
From the ZBTHS Principal's Office Vol. 2, Issue 12
Principal's Message 1/25/22
I am very pleased to report that Semester 1 was an academic success. Student grades were excellent—the best we have seen in quite a long time. In our efforts to analyze student academic success, we examine the percentage of A, B, and C grades earned in each course, as well as the overall passing rate for each course. In this first semester of the 2021-2022 school year, we saw the smallest number of failures in the past seven years when we began collecting and analyzing student grade data in this manner. This accomplishment demonstrates a fantastic effort by our students, staff, and families.
With Semester 2 off to a great start, I’d like to provide a few highlights that you can read more about in this ZBTHS Bulletin.
- Virtual Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, 2/3/22. Make your appointments now.
- The Illinois 5Essentials Survey is open. We need parents/guardians to take the survey. Students will be taking the survey in their Math class or Advisory in February. The survey provides students and families an opportunity to provide feedback to the school so we can continue to best meet your needs.
- Course selection for next year has begun. Students are meeting with advisors and counselors to select classes for the 2022-2023 school year.
- Plans are being finalized for end-of-year celebrations for the Class of 2022. Our Graduation ceremony is set for Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 1:00pm outside in our athletic stadium, and our Senior Honors and Awards Ceremony will be on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 6:30 pm in the Performing Arts Center.
As the semester continues, the safety and well-being of our students and staff remains a top priority. COVID-19 mitigations remain in place and will continue to be a primary strategy to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the building. We also remain focused on creating a school environment where every student can reach their full potential. Daily attendance, showing up to every class on time, and maintaining a positive attitude are keys to student success.
Sincerely,
Dr. Chris Pawelczyk
