JAMM Dance COVID Preparedness Plan
What We’re Doing to Help Keep You Safe
The safety of our dancers, parents and staff members is what’s most important. JAMM has always been dedicated to delivering a safe and healthy way of life to our community, and with a carefully planned and phased approach, we will begin to reopen. Each of us will play an important role in making your experience safe for us all.
OUR NEW NORMAL
SOCIAL DISTANCE MARKERS IN STUDIO HALLWAYSOur hallways will be marked with social distancing markers so dancers coming into the studio can remain separated while they wait for class.
SOCIAL DISTANCE MARKERS IN STUDIO- LIFTS and PARTNERING
We will also have all studios marked out for social distancing. The use of props may not be warranted in the studio. Some lifts may be taken out or adjusted.
LIMITED CLASS SIZE
Class Sizes will be limited to 10 dancers. If you are in a group with a larger number than 10, we will be splitting your class into two classes. A list of dancers for those respective times and classes will be sent with the rehearsal schedule.
As a general rule Only 1 group will be admitted to JAMM for rehearsals per day. We are unable to mix groups or utilize more than 1 studio at a time. If more than one group will be in the studio at a time the facility will be sanitized prior to a new group entering that studio. All surfaces will be cleaned including the restrooms, hallways, doorhandles, etc.
DANCERS OR DANCERS FAMILIES THAT ARE ILL OR HAVE BEEN EXPOSED
Dancers that are ill with a fever or any symptoms should not come to dance. Dancers that have been exposed to someone with the virus or symptoms should not come to dance. Dancers who are ill or not feeling well will be sent home immediately and will be held in an area away from other dancers.
LOBBY AND KITCHEN
The parent lobby and dancers lounge will be closed. We have devised a rehearsal schedule that will not allow for 'social gathering space" at JAMM. If dancers need a snack they can eat it between classes. All common areas will be closed until further notice.
Dancers that want to wear a mask should check with their physician prior to wearing one. Masks have been proven to create too much C02 inhalation from the athlete which can cause fainting and light headedness. If your physician thinks it is safe for your dancer to wear a mask while exerting energy for a few hours at a time please wear one.
MASKS IN GENERAL HALLWAYS
Wearing a mask in the general hallways is permitted and encouraged.
PARENTS AND ADDITIONAL GUESTS
We encourage parents to come in to JAMM to see our best cleaning practices and policies- however beyond checking in with the studio at the beginning of class if wanted/needed we ask that parents remain in their cars. Our lobby will be closed for viewing unit further notice.
Our water fountain will be closed until further notice. Please make sure you are packing your dancer with water. JAMM will have disposable water bottles on hand for those that forget or need water.
JAMM Had the following daily cleaning protocol in place before this pandemic
- Sanitizing of all studio floors
- Sanitizing of all restrooms (several times a day)
- Wiping all heavy touch surfaces between classes and during class drinking fountain , door handles, barres, couches, tables, etc.
- All equipment is sanitized on a daily basis; mats, barres, fitness balls, yoga blocks, handheld props, etc.
- Garbage is taken out each day or several times per day.
JAMM will implement the following protocol
- All equipment will be sanitized after each use
- All studio floors will be sanitized between every class
- Restrooms will be cleaned between each class
- We will continue to wipe down all touch surfaces between each class
JAMM will train the staff to use best cleaning practices as well as offer our clients information regarding our preparedness plan by posting it in several places at JAMM
We will provide Sanitation Stations for our dancers and clients to have easy access to hand sanitizer and hand sanitizing wipes.
JUST KEEP ZOOMING
Dancers that have planned summer vacations over the rehearsal schedule are also able to zoom. We have set up our schedule with family in mind summer planning. Dancers will only need to attend one in person day for their group dances. They will be zooming an additional tech class which we were hoping could be from a vacation spot if needed.
