College Planning/Financial Aid Night

Thursday, Nov. 19th, 6pm

Carver Center Main Theatre

All students and parents are strongly encouraged to attend this event. The evening will include a presentation about applying to college by an Admissions Counselor at Stevenson University and understanding financial aid by a representative of the Maryland Higher Education Commission for 11th and 12th grade families. Freshman and Sophomore families will receive a special session about early steps that students can take to prepare themselves to apply to colleges. Carver Center School Counselors will also be on hand to showcase the tools available to Carver students as they navigate the college application process.

Coffee with the Counselor - Freshmen: Making the Transition to High School

Tuesday, Nov. 17th, 7-9am

Carver Center School Counseling Office

Freshman students and their parents are invited to talk with counselors about making the transition to high school. Counselors will be on hand to discuss supports and resources available to help students with issues such as organization and time management.

Parent Session - Organization and Time Management Resources for High School and Beyond

Wednesday, Dec. 9th, 6pm

Carver Center - Room 1050

Parents (and students) are invited to join us for a session which outlines supports available to help students managing executive function challenges. School Counselors will answer individual questions and provide personalized support as well as connect students and families with additional resources.

Coffee with the Counselor - Preparing for the College Application Process for JUNIORS

Tuesday, Jan. 26th 2016 at 7-9am

Junior students and their parents are invited to talk with counselors about college search tasks to complete before their Senior Year.

Junior Day

Carver Center for Arts and Technology

The School Counseling Team will host our annual Junior Day, an event designed to provide 11th grade students with the opportunity to attend presentations related to post-graduation planning.

This event is for 11th graders ONLY and is built into their school day.
