MAP Testing Grades 3rd-6th
MAP Test
The state of Missouri and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has set the guidelines for testing this year, which include in-person testing for all students in grades 3-8. Our WSD Virtual Academy students are included in that guideline. The tests inform families of how well their children are able to apply their knowledge, how well they are meeting educational standards, and how they compare to other students in their grade. In general, the tests can identify student’s strengths and weaknesses to indicate where extra support or enrichment is needed.
Third, fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade students will take the MAP test on the following dates:
6th Grade: May 10 &11
5th Grade: May 10, 11, & 12
4th Grade: May 17, 18, &19
3rd Grade: May 3 & 4
Thank you for your continued support of Green Tree Elementary!

APRIL ESSENTIAL-LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES, MOVE ON AND BE POSITIVE
Be positive and enjoy life. Some things just aren’t worth getting upset over. Keep everything in perspective and focus on the good in your life.
Accept that you are going to make mistakes. Learn from them and move on. When it happens, you can’t beat yourself up over it. You have to pick yourself up, learn from the experience, and move on.
WOW WEDNESDAYS 😃
Every week, teachers will choose one student who was showing exceptional House Character/Spirit and upholding the Essential 10 from the week prior. This is an honor to receive. This wheel is special and holds its own magic. No one can touch it unless they are given permission. On Wednesdays, the chosen students spin the wheel and earn house points.

Coming Next Year to GTE: THE AMAZING SHAKE!
The Amazing Shake is a competition that encourages students to use manners, respect, professionalism and professional conduct. All grade levels will participate. We will begin introducing basic skills with our kindergarten students and continue to build upon these skills each year, in every grade. We are hoping to begin the competition next school year if we are able. You can learn more about the amazing shake at: https://www.theamazingshake.com/

GATOR POND
The District continues to provide free meals for all students through June 30, 2021 or until available federal funding runs out. The meals are being provided regardless of eligibility as a result of the extension of waivers by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) related to the Seamless Summer Option program. This includes children ages 1-18 who reside in the Wentzville School District boundaries but are not enrolled in a WSD school.
