Week of March 23-27, 2015
March 27: Spring Carnival, 6:30-8:30 pm
April 9: Grandparents and Special Friends Breakfast, 7:30 am
April 9: Art Fair, 6-7:30 pm
Reading: We will complete Daily 5 rotations and Ms. Schaum will continue to meet with guided reading groups! During read alouds we will be focusing on non-fiction texts.
Writing: We will be writers that go through the entire writing process: Brainstorm, First Draft, Revise, Edit, and Publish. We will use thinking maps to prewrite, then write a first draft, make corrections with a partner, and finally we will publish our pieces. This week we will continue writing expository texts. We will focus on editing and revising, especially on adding details and descriptive language to our writing.
Math: We will be continuing to practice our addition and subtraction skills - making them as quick and automatic as possible. We will continue to work on addition and subtraction problem solving skills, focusing on story/word problems.
Science: We will be learning about weather and seasons.
Social Studies: We will be learning about famous inventors and inventions.
PBL: To the Moon and Back - learning about the sun, moon and stars.
