A Message From Mrs. O'Shaughnessy
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. At PS 88Q, we made it a weeklong celebration! As families joined the classes, and students took part in Thanksgiving activities, a feeling of gratitude was evident. We have so much to be thankful for. This community, this amazing staff, and our amazing children make PS 88Q the remarkable school that it is.
Being together, making connections is what elementary school is all about. As a mom, I know how important it is to feel connected to school. Elementary school is the longest time period your child will ever be in one school. Our students join us in 3k, PreK and Kindergarten, and leave us in Grade 5. For some, this is seven years! Middle school, high school and college are a fraction of that time. We love our families and want you to be part of this journey! This week, our Social Justice Committee has a wonderful event planned for Tuesday evening from 5:00pm-7:00pm. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet the other families, enjoy being in school with your child, and spend some time talking with the PS 88Q staff. I look forward to seeing you all!

Breaking Bread, Building Bonds Family Event
Hello Families!
The Social Justice Committee has organized a school-wide initiative in honor of Native American Heritage during the month of November.
On Tuesday, November 28, join us for our Breaking Bread, Building Bonds family event from 5 pm to 7 pm in the school cafeteria.
It will be a time to get to know one another and partake in something that all families share.
We are looking for families to share bread from their cultures. Please return the tear-off to let us know we can count on you!
Respectfully,
The Social Justice Committee
