#RobinsonStrong
We have had a great week of learning this week! I've gotten to see students in zoom and their work in schoology and seesaw. They are working hard and getting into the routine of class time. Please help us to enforce that students should not have other student's faces as their background picture on zoom.
Unfortunately, we have had multiple issues with someone taking food out of our little panty by the OLC and throw the food around the OLC and our field. This week, we had someone break the plexiglass door to the pantry as well. We have reached out to our School Resource Officer and he has assured us that they will increase security around our building. Thank you to PTO for replacing our plexiglass door.
You should have received a parent survey on Thursday night. This closes tonight and we would love to have our parents sharing how things are going. Thank you to families who have been emailing and posting positive feedback for our awesome teaching staff on FB. We are so fortunate to have such caring and hard working staff at Robinson.
This week we had lots of kids come up and do the sidewalk splash! For this week's fun activity, please make a #RobinsonStrong sign for your front door or yard and send a picture to OH at angeline.oneal-hogrefe@kirkwoodschools.org and we will post the pics on our FB page.
Please reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or if we can provide your family any support.
Take Care-

Robinson Equity Group
We'd like to welcome all new Robinson families, and invite all new Robinson parents and caretakers to participate in the Robinson Equity Group. We advocate for inclusion and acceptance by establishing a brave space that produces authentic conversations about race, equity, privilege, and oppression. We strive to build meaningful relationships that connect families and work to create equity in our schools and communities.
We've had some discussion about how to move forward when we can't all meet in person, and we are all consumed with navigating online learning. We had a great online book club session this summer on Ibram X. Kendi's book How to Be An Anti-Racist, but we realize reading a book and investing in several sessions of discussion might be more capacity than some of us have given the circumstances. At the same time, now is not the time to take our foot of the pedal in our equity work. We want to keep moving forward!
So . . . this fall we're going to try a PODCAST discussion group instead. One podcast episode, once a month. All you need to do is listen to the podcast episode, and join us on Zoom to dig in to the issues and ideas in the episode.
We are VERY excited about this month's podcast, which is an interview with anti-racist author, educator and media producer Austin Channing Brown from Brene Brown's podcast, Unlocking Us. It is a GREAT dialogue, and we can't wait to dive in.
Please join our first podcast discussion on Thursday, October 1 from 6:30-8:00 on Zoom. We'll make an event post with the link to join before the date. All Robinson parents and caretakers, old and new, are invited!
