Weekly Bulletin - Week of Feb. 15th

Weekly Principal's Note:

I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend. Thanks for doing a great job on some tricky (and emotional) conferences. Your commitment to these kids is really impressive. It may be exhausting and it's sometimes hard to tell if the hard work is paying off, but trust make a difference! I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week!

This Week:

  • No School

  • No School

  • First day back...craziness?

  • Some folks will be in shooting a video highlighting our Catholicity...
  • All School Mass at 9 am (Please prep the kids for Mass with the responses, readings, Saint of the Day, etc.)

  • Tours...

Ivan...Instructional Assistant

As some of you may know, last week, we welcomed Ivan on to our staff as a full-time employee. He will provide instructional support to the 2nd and 3rd grade teachers/students. He will still be working half time in Extended Care and then will work to support Jamie and Doris for the remainder of the week. This is great news for the kids!! Because of this, if you are in need of a sub, please file a sub request through the online system (AESOP) to request an outside sub. Remember to request your sub early...6:30 am won't work to get a sub for that day! We are trying not to use Ivan for this, so that he can be focused on the schedule we have laid out for him.

Thank You to Lizbeth, Erika, and the Kitchen Crew!

Thank you so much to the amazing work being done up in the kitchen. Thanks to Lizbeth's outstanding leadership, we have passed our Federal Meals Review...for another 3 years!! Yeah!!

Staff Survey Monkey

I wanted to thank all who took the time to respond to the survey I sent out a week or so ago. In general, the results indicated the following:

  • It has been a challenging year for most teachers, but it is getting better
  • More support would be helpful to meet the needs of each classroom
  • Dempsey's (additional) presence is desired in most classrooms
  • Staff feels the support of their colleagues

The line of communication is always open. If you have additional questions, comments, or concerns, just email me or schedule time to meet with me in the office.

-Ms. Dempsey

Parent Communication

Something I noticed from conferences...

Parents are critical to the success of our school and our students, so we need to make sure that we are encouraging open, two-way communication. Whether the issue is behavioral, social, spiritual, or academic, please make sure to keep in constant communication with the parents. Also, don't forget to send emails/notes to acknowledge good behavior! Parents love to hear this!
