Gender
The common media doesn't believe that rape can happen to women as well as men. 1in 33 men have experienced an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime (rainn.org). though this number isn't as high as the number of female victims, his number is still too high.
Race
Another myth created by the common media is that most rapes are committed either by African-American or South-American men or by Sexually-unfulfilled older white men. Truthfully, Rape is committed by every race and gender. Rape isn't some sort of special tradition, but a horrible crime.
Family
Not all rapes are committed by people the victim doesn't know. Only 17% of rapes are committed by random strangers (rainn.org). this means that rapes are mostly committed by friends, family, or partners. The fact that family and friends will do something this horrible is a truly frightening thought.
Overview
Rape isn't committed by just one kind of person. Rape isn't an exclusive thing. Rape is a monster that can live in anyone. This means that all should be vigilant, and should work together to stop this horrible crime.
