ABJ Scots Week at a Glance (SWAG)
November 21 - 25, 2022
Today we celebrate the final Sunday in our church liturgical calendar. This week will mark the end of ordinary time and green tablecloths on our prayer tables and a move towards Advent. Through the time of Advent we look forward to his first coming, when he arrived as a humble child laid in a manger.
This weekend is known as the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. In our continuous relationship with our Lord we are perpetually preparing for his second coming when He will come as the King and Lord of life and of history. It is this second coming that we focus on today in our readings and homily.
Last weekend, we officially acknowledged Catholic Education Sunday although it has been said that we really could concede every weekend to be an opportunity to celebrate this gift. By highlighting Catholic Education, which is an extension of the work of the church and a dedicated faith partner, we can deepen our student’s understanding of our faith community and support our local parishes. Indeed we are truly blessed to have such wonderful support with our OLPH and St Sophia’s Parishes. We are grateful for the opportunity to support one another and know we are better together.
The Next ABJ-Led Monthly Mass is November 20 at 7:00 pm
Special shoutout to our Seniors' Girls Basketball Team for volunteering to usher and greet parishoners at our monthly Mass!
All are welcome!

ABJ Swim Team
Football season is done, volleyball is done, but the swim team is still going strong! The swim team has been training hard 3 mornings per week since mid-September preparing for Divisionals and Championships.
In their first swim meet against other Sherwood Park teams, they showed their presence and racing skills. Last Thursday the team competed in their final meet in Edmonton against Holy Trinity, St. FX, St. Joe's and Mother Margaret Mary, who was the team that beat them in last year's Championships. It will be a good competition heading into Divisionals and the team is ready!

Scholarship Update
At ScholarTree, we always look for various scholarships that apply to as many different types of students as possible. We have found that the more unique a scholarship criteria, the more likely a student is to apply and, more importantly, win that particular scholarship. We have made a concerted effort to add more unique scholarships in the last month. We have added over 20 brand-new scholarships that have never been featured on the site.
Here are some scholarships that are exclusive to ScholarTree:
